Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

What is Search engine optimisation?

In a nutshell, it's aim is to allow people searching for information or services to find your site.  For example, consider the case of a user living in the Croydon area of the UK looking for a plumber.  They could use a search engine like google and type something like 'plumbers croydon'.

By having a think about the typical search terms a user would enter we can modify your site so that it stands a better chance of being found in the first few pages of results returned from something like Google or Yahoo etc.

Use our search engine tool to find out lookup your current ranking

If you have a website already and want to find out where you appear in the search engine rankings use our tool below.  All you need to do is enter the keywords you would expect a user to enter when looking for your service, your website address and your email address.

How is this done?

There are two main tasks.

The search engines are informed of the existance of your site.

The visual and non visual (although mostly the bits you don't see) are optimised so that when the search engine visits your site it can deal with the content in a far more efficient way.

Why do I need to bother?

People use search engines to find out stuff. These searches can return dozens or literally millions of results. People start at the top of the results and work down till they find what they are after (or narrow their search and try again). If your site doesn't appear high enough in these results people won't visit. It's that simple.

If your a business this translates to potential lost sales. If you're interest is non commercial the negative effect is not finanacial but equally undesirable - they don't find out about your site.

Ok, I'm convinced there is value in this, tell me more?

A good SEO campaign often requires some degree of redesign. The design of a site sets the basic foundation for your SEO to work with. The size, descriptiveness and technology used to create the site are important preliminary factors for SEOs on first examination and form the basis of several questions that will determine the direction of the campaign. While your entire site may not require redesign, revision of the INDEX page is very often a necessity and the addition of a few new internal pages may be required.

This bit is important!

We can never guarantee a Top 10 Position! No one can as this has to be from the Search Engine Side, because let's face it, there can only be 10 in the Top 10 so no one can guarantee a Top 10 Ranking.

I've seen tools to do this why is your way better?

All these tools do is submit your site to the search engines and foget about it. There's little point in telling the search engine about your site if the actual physical makeup of the site means the search engine can't do it's job effectively when it gets there. We do most of the work involved in this by hand. Your site is analysed by a real person with extensive knowledge of how the search engines work. There is no better way to perform this task. We guarantee it!

Ok, I'm convinced about the benefits. How much will all this magic cost?

We do this work on a case by case basis. The amount of work required is matched only by the variety of websites out there. Drop us a mail at general@viewlineuk.com telling us a little about your site. We'll conduct a review of your site and get back to you.
